The North and East Neighborhood Council’’s Good Neighbor program delivers welcome baskets
for new residents to our neighborhood. The project creates attractive straw baskets stuffed with information about the Council, our neighborhood, frequently used city services, and even includes locally baked cookies from Bessanderson McNeill.
The volunteer committee sets aside one Saturday morning each month to pay team visits to new homeowners. The committee gets names from our helpful neighborhood realtors and averages nine deliveries a month. Recipients are always surprised and delighted to be welcomed in this unique manner.
The committee chair is Ronnie Marty, who created the program. If you’d like to help, please contact her. It’s a lot of fun, takes less than 2 hours, and is just one of many ways to further the sense of community in the North and East!
