ANTIOCH — Regional emergency crews warn residents in the East Bay to be prepared for heavy rains, wind and potential flooding this week.
“Citizens are requested to move to safe locations should water levels rise to unsafe conditions and avoid areas of downed trees, power lines and other potential life threatening hazards,” said a statement from Antioch emergency services and the Contra Costa County Community Warning System.
The National Weather Service expects heavy rain beginning Monday and continuing throughout the week, leading to rising water on local streams and creeks. The service said residents should also expect damaging winds Wednesday and Thursday that could down trees and power lines.
